Why Brighton?

We Are Leading
Dyslexic Education

The Brighton School is a non-profit, private school educating students in 1st – 12th grades. We are a school that is dedicated to students who have dyslexia and related learning differences. We believe that ALL students can learn, it’s a matter of how the instruction is given and the support that is available to push students to their potential.

Since 1972, The Brighton School has lead dyslexic education in our region, by providing students with individualized learning strategies, whole school accommodations, multi-sensory instruction, and daily structured language therapy. Brighton teachers are equipped with strategies and the passion to teach students with dyslexia and related learning differences. We provide the most effective, evidence-based learning program in our area.

Why Brighton

The Brighton School provides explicit instruction with an Orton-Gillingham approach, which is necessary for dyslexic students who need support in reading, writing, and spelling.  The Orton-Gillingham approach to teaching students with dyslexia is explicit, systematic, structured, multi-sensory, individualized, diagnostic, and prescriptive. It’s the foundation of our instructional program.

The Brighton School provides daily language therapy, which is taught to every student on campus.  Our students are placed into flexible small groups each day and instructed with a structured language program.  Each direct instruction group receives one on one instruction, with multi-sensory adaptations throughout each lesson.
