Bachelor of Arts in Music: Louisiana State University 

Rachel Harvey joined The Brighton School faculty in January of 2024.  She is trained in multiple Orton-Gillingham based reading programs including Brainspring and The Association Method. Rachel studied Music Education and Music Performance at LSU and Dyslexia Therapy at the University of Southern Mississippi. During her time at LSU she was involved in LSU’s “Reading Buddy” program providing tutoring to students in underserved communities. Additionally, she was a member of the clarinet section of LSU’s Tiger Marching Band. Rachel has been a classroom teacher in East Baton Rouge Parish Schools and Ascension Parish where she received the Teacher of the Year award during the 2021-2022 school year. When she is not working, she can be found playing clarinet with the Baton Rouge Concert Band or in “The Most Most Magical Place on Earth” in Orlando, Florida. Ms. Harvey is dedicated to creating and maintaining an environment where children are treated with dignity and respect while growing to reach their full potential.
